The Credit River Capitals are pleased to announce and welcome back the coaching lineup for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. CRC is excited to announce two new additions to the coaching lineup with Kevin Cochrane running the U10 program and Mike Sardella coming in to take over the U18 program.
Both new coaches have a pedigree of accomplished programs focused on player development and team success.

U10(2016) - Kevin Cochrane

The Credit River Capitals are pleased to announce Kevin Cochrane as the 2016 U10 AAA coach for the 2025/26 season. Kevin comes to us most recently from the KSL (Klevr Super League) where he was the 2024/25 head coach of the Mississauga Giants U9 program. Kevin brings to us a vast amount of knowledge, experience, and skill from his playing days in Jr hockey in Ontario. He also has over 25 years of coaching experience across various levels in the OMHA and GTHL, where he has won multiple championships. Additionally, the elite 2006 AAA spring program he offered for many years contributed to the success of players currently playing in the OHL and Jr A leagues across Canada (many of which have gone on to be drafted into the NHL). Kevin's coaching focus is the development of individual skill as a mechanism to support team play. We are very excited to have Kevin at the helm to lead this CRC U10 AAA team into a successful 2025/26 season.
U11 (2015) – Kyle Callaghan

Kyle will be returning for year two with the 2015 age group. Kyle brings with him over 8 years of AAA coaching experience and a strong skill development background as the owner of Wild Wolf Hockey. Kyle will continue building and developing the skillset of the 2015 program with the foundation created this season. Kyle is HP1 certified and through his association with the National Hockey League Coaches' Association has become a mentor within the BIPOC community. The individual skill development is second to none and the outlook for the future of program is bright as the individual player skills and team play get stronger year over year.
U12 (2014)– Mike Jones

We would like to welcome back Mike for year two with the 2014 program. In one season leading the 2014's, they have doubled the wins and points in the league standings from the previous season while also improving more than fifteen spots within the provincial rankings. Mike brings over 17 years of high-performance hockey development and AAA coaching experience in the GTHL and OMHA including being named an Assistant Coach with the Aurora Tigers Junior ‘A’ team in 2021. As a Skills Specialist, Mike has trained several OHL & NHL players both independently and in groupsettings. His dedication and energy for the game is contagious, we’re excited to bring Mike given his proven track record of success - developing and advancing individuals, and teams. Mike believes in creating an engaging program and he’s looking forward to moving this group forward next season.
U13 (2013)– Marco Conte

We welcome back Marco for his 4th season with the Caps organization. Under Marco's leadership, the 2013 program continues to improve and get stronger year over year. Over the past three years, the 2013's have continually moved up in the league standings currently sitting in third place. In addition, the team has moved up in the provincial rankings over those three years from 33rd, to 18th and currently 14th. Marco’s season plan and strong development program has resulted in one ice team success and the development of each player within his program. We look forward to future and continued success Marco has brought to this program.

We would like to welcome back Dwayne and his staff for their second year with the Credit River Organization. With 18 years of head coaching experience in the GTHL, OMHA & Junior hockey Dwayne comes to us with a proven track record of success. Dwayne has coached a variety of age groups at the rep level including ’02, ’04, ’06, ’08, Junior A & B and will join the Caps to lead our 2012’s on their hockey pathway. With over 400 coaching victories on his resume and his background working in professional sports and event management Dwayne believes that sports are more than just a game. It is a great way to teach many life lessons while working hard and still having fun in competition and the sport you enjoy. Dwayne is a Hockey Canada High Performance certifiedcoach and former Canadian University player. Known for being a communicator and teacher Dwayne & his staff have helped graduate many of his former players to the GOJHL, OJHL, BCHL and OHL.
U15 (2011) - Tom O’Grady

Tom played his Junior hockey locally for the Bramalea Blues and Brampton Capitals before receiving a full athletic scholarship to Merrimack College – Division 1 Hockey East. Post school, Tom went on to pay professionally in Germany for 10 years. Tom has coaching experience in Minor Hockey coaching for 10 years in Germany with additional experience at the AAA and Junior level since 2008 in the GTHL, OMHA and OPJHL leagues.
Tom is back for his second year with the CRC organization.
U16 (2010) – Randy Smith

Randy and his staff are returning to continue the winning culture they have created with the 2010 age group. For the third consecutive season, under the leadership of Randy and his staff, the 2010 Caps team have taken home the league championship trophy! Two years ago, the team came within an overtime goal at the OMHA finals for a birth to the OHF Championships and followed that up with a gold medal while representing the OMHA at the Ontario Winter Games in Thunder Bay. Heading into their U16 OHL Draft Year, the 2010 club currently ranks #1 in the OMHA we are excited to welcome Randy back and have him lead this team in their quest for the OHL Cup.
U18 (2008/2009) - Mike Sardella

Mike and his staff are joining the Credit River Capitals organization after a successful period with the 2009-born Vaughan Panthers, recent winners of the International Silver Stick, Pro Hockey Life Cup, GTHL Playoffs, and OHF Championship. The success of Mike's program cannot be denied as under hisleadership the team continued to improve year over year as the team ranking was #34 in the province and each year improving making their way to the #2 ranking last season and the #1 ranked team in Ontario this season.
Mike grew up playing in the OMHA and GTHL, with the Richmond Hill Coyotes and Toronto Marlboros, and played four years of Junior A hockey in the OJHL.
He has been coaching in the GTHL since 2013, and will bring his experience creating a successful development environment for the team and players to the U18 program in 2025-2026.
